For this brief, I was given the freedom to create a project of my choice. Coming from a Serbian background, I’ve often been struck by the misconceptions and opinions people hold about the country I’m from, so I decided to base my project on that very subject.

I chose to take a light-hearted approach, avoiding anything too political, and styled my work as if it were associated with the “Serbian Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.” From this, I created three fun zine - each inspired by one of the colours of the Serbian flag.

The first zine (Red) tackles common stereotypes about Serbia - things I’ve heard in the media, seen online, or even had friends say, while also including some interesting facts to challenge those perceptions.

The second zine (Blue) highlights Serbia’s top five tourist attractions, showing there’s far more to the country than people might assume.

 

The third and final zine (White) focuses on Serbian cuisine, presented as an illustrated cookbook that invites readers to try traditional dishes for themselves - you never know, you might just discover a new favourite!
